Hey! Hey! Hey!
I hope you’ve had a good week! I thought last week was full of blessings but man did God show up again this week! We have so much to be grateful for!
I saw two things this week on social media and both struck me and kinda rattled me in a big way!
The first one was a video that asked if God said yes to everything you prayed this week, what would you have, and what would the world be like? Would your body just be nourished by the food you ate, or would it be a better world?
I really sat for a minute and thought about what I had prayed for recently. I honestly try my best to have a very intentional prayer life and not just pray for my food. I think talking with the Father is a very important part of our relationship with Him. Could you imagine being married, yet never speaking to your spouse? I mean the Bible says we are the bride of Christ. He wants us to converse with Him.
I’ll be vulnerable and let you in on what a few of my answered prayers would be.
- Freedom from depression for others.
- Mental health restored for others.
- A child.
- No more pain for a friend.
- Healing for a family member.
What would yours be? Have you really prayed and had conversations with God or do you just pray before you eat? Have you asked for anything that would truly make a difference? Would the world be a better place because of the things you’ve prayed for? Have you thanked God? Have you told him how worthy He is? Have you thanked Him for His grace? I want to encourage you to be more intentional in your prayers this week and I plan to do the same.
The second thing I saw was a post that said God didn’t ask you to feed the 5,000. He asked you to provide the bread and fish.
God doesn’t expect us to perform miracles, but we’re not called to just walk around asking God to do big things. We are called to do work for His kingdom. We have supplies that we need to use to provide for the miracles that God can do.
Have you thought about the supplies you are holding on to that might be preventing God from “feeding the 5,000”? Are you hiding your fish and two loaves because you’re scared you’ll get hungry if you don’t keep it for yourself? I fully believe that God does not need us to perform miracles but He has given each of us special talents and gifts that He wants us to allow Him to use to perform bigger miracles.
As you enter this week, I just want to encourage you to be intentional in your prayer life and take note of the gifts God has given you. You might just have the very item He needs to perform his next miracle.
